Qantas Airways - Booking Information

Qantas Airways, Australia’s flag carrier and one of the country’s strongest brands, operates 143 aircraft that ferries passengers to 41 domestic and international destinations, which include 14 countries in Africa, North and South America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.

Flying under the slogan “The Spirit of Australia,” Qantas Airways dominates 65% of the country’s domestic air market, distinguishing it as Australia’s largest airline and the second oldest air carrier in the world.

Passengers wishing to book a flight with Qantas Airways or any of its subsidiary airline companies can simply visit its website at www.qantas.com.au. The website also provides passengers with a one-stop-shop online facility where they can book hotel accommodations, car rentals, airline transfers, holiday packages and activities, shows and events, and even purchase Qantas gift vouchers at the same time they purchase their tickets.

While online booking is free, the airline charges certain fees for ticket reservations made by phone via Qantas Contact Centers, at Qantas airport locations, and Qantas travel outlets.

Qantas offers secure payment via BPAY and Australia’s Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), allowing passengers can pay for their tickets through credit, charge or debit cards online. To avoid credit card fees, the airline recommends their fee-free payment options, which include BPAY 7 days before flight departure, and Debit MasterCard ticket booking 7 days before flight departure. Outside of these payment methods, passengers incur credit, charge or debit card surcharges for domestic flights (AU$ 7.70), trans-Tasman trips (AU$ 7.70), and international flights (AU$ 30) per ticket.

Some Qantas flights are eligible for a Book Now, Pay Later, where passengers can deposit an amount to reserve a seat, and pay for the rest of their booking closer to their departure date.

Passengers who wish to change their booking details can do so online for certain fees through the airline’s “Manage Your Booking Facility.” Qantas Airways also provides for various check-in options, which include airport check-in desks, web check-in, elf service kiosks, and mobile phone check-in.
