Qantas adds More Sydney-Manila Flights for the Holiday Season

11th Sep 2015

Australian airline Qantas Airways is set to add more flights between Manila and Sydney, making it a 5-time-weekly service during the holiday season. The carrier will add another flight for the period between early December, 2015 and late March next year.

Qantas International Chief Executive Officer Gareth Evans said the airline made this move in order to meet the high public demand.

Evans said:

"We're pleased to add to the seasonal services we're set to operate from Asia later this year, with the 5th weekly Manila flight again representing the dynamic nature of our network, which has the flexibility to offer our customers more flights during peak seasons"

In a statement issued this Thursday Qantas said it will operate the 5th weekly service between Manila and Sydney on Sundays. Currently, the carrier flies between the two destinations on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The new Manila-Sydney service will be available for sale beginning next week.

The company has also revealed that, as of 26th October, it plans to add four new services between Sydney and Hong Kong a week.

Qantas is definitely getting ready for the peak holiday season, as it already announced 140 extra international services. These include flights to New Zealand, Jakarta and Singapore and will operate between December this year and February next one.

Speaking about this, Qantas Executive Manager for International Sales Stephen Thompson said:

"A key part of our strategy is listening to and responding to our customers' needs and developing an agile and flexible network which offers more options during peak periods."

He added:

"Our additional services to Singapore and Jakarta are also good news for customers traveling to destinations across Asia, with the daily frequency between Perth and Sydney over the holidays confirming that our decision to return to this route was the right one."
