Qantas iPhone Travel App Released

If you got an iPhone and you happen to travel with Qantas, you will be pleased to know that a new travel app designed for iPhones is now available for the taking. Sinply log in to Apple's iTune Store to download the app for free.

The new iPhone travel app is said to be far more versatile compared to the old Qantas Frequent Flyer app, making it an essential tool wherever you go on a holiday or business trip.

An airline spokeswoman also revealed that Qantas is already working on the release of the app's Android version which is expected to be available towards the end of this year.

Fare alerts, flight status and Passbook support

Now, take a peek of what you would expect to find in the new Qantas Airways travel app.

Of course, the basic "search" and "book" service are there making it easy for you to book a flight wherever you are on the planet, either lounging on the beach at a secluded resort or at a crowded theme park.

Passengers would also be able to create their own watchlist on specific destinations and receive alert whenever a special offer or sale is available. The watchlist would also enables passengers to get alerts whenever a particular fare drops below their preferred price.

If you got this app on your iPhone, mobile check-in for most domestic flights is now mandatory. Needless to say, you are now obliged to do your check-in using your iPhone with colour-coded boarding passes added automatically to Apple's Passbook app.

Using the app will also enable you to get live updates regarding the status of your flight as well as relevant information.

Moreover, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can also check their points balance.
