Qantas Offers Triple Points on Flights from Sydney and Melbourne to London
28th Jun 2016
Australian airline Qantas Airways is looking to be among the first to turn Brexit into a business opportunity as it has announced that it will offer its customers the chance to earn triple Qantas Points on its flights from Sydney or Melbourne to London.
For bookings made between 28th June and 4th July this year, Qantas Frequent Flyer members will be able to earn extra 50,000 points. Normally, they would be eligible for 24,800 FF points on return flights between London and Melbourne or Sydney, but now the total bonus is a very nice 74,400 Qantas Points.
The bonus points can be used during the travel period between 4th October and 22nd November this year, or between 24th January and 28th March, 2017.
Qantas customers can earn the extra points on the Economy Class on Sydney-Dubai and Dubai-London, Heathrow, as well as Melbourne-Dubai and Dubai-London flights. Passengers on a single booking will need to register first before they can qualify for the bonus.
Bonus points are not applicable on flights that carry a QF flight code that are not operated by the Australian carrier. Also, the bonus points can't be earned on Classic Flight Rewards.
Qantas is the First Aussie Airline on Snapchat
Qantas has become the first Aussie airline to join the widely popular image messaging and multimedia mobile app Snapchat.
Qantas' cabin crew and pilots will be using Snapchat as a means to give users a sneak peek into the behind the scene at the airline, showcasing their day-to-day jobs.
According to Qantas, its Snapchat friends will be able to see something new every fortnight from its pilots, cabin crew and engineers, but also lounge employees, chefs and other staff.
This is a golden opportunity for Qantas to enter the highly rewarding social media market as Snapchat is used by around 2 million Australians every month.
This is a great opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to learn a little more about how a big airline is operated by adding Qantas as a friend on Snapchat and witness the carrier's employees' journey through Snap Stories.
