Star Alliance To Offer Dedicated Security Lanes at Sydney Airport
1st Dec 2014
Passengers on any of the Star Alliance member airlines passing through Sydney International Airport will soon breeze through security checks via dedicated lanes.
The Star Alliance CEO, Mark Schwab, told The Australian that it aims to install similar dedicated facility in other major airports in Australia where its members operate. He assured that the facility shall be in place within two years' time, initially at Sydney Airport.
The facility will enable Star Alliance Gold members to have a fast access to the boarding gate every time they fly with Star Alliance-member airline.
There are currently 10 Star Alliance-member airlines operating in Australia which include Air Canada, United, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways.
Star Alliance Gold members passing through Sydney Airport are now enjoying airport privileges such as cross-lounge access, priority check-in, and fast boarding.
According to Schwab, they will replicate the same experience passengers have at London Heathrow in other airports around the world.
The good news is that most major airports in Australia already offer speedy security clearance and faster immigration processing through Express Path, which is offered to premium passengers as well passengers on business and first class seats.
