Virgin Australia Most Punctual National Carrier in April

Virgin Australia bested Qantas Airways and the other carriers in Australia for the second month in a row to become the most punctual airline in the country for April.
According to the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) report for April, a combined Virgin Australia and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) networks had 91.8 per cent of their flights arrive within the 15-minute mark.
On the other side, the combined networks of Qantas and QantasLink had 89.4 per cent of their flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled time last month.
The situation was similar when it comes to departures. In this category, the combined Virgin Australia/VARA network had 92.8 per cent depart on time, or within 15 minutes of schedule. Qantas/QantasLink combined network were at 89.6 per cent.
It should also be pointed out that Virgin Australia Regional Airlines was the only one to drop in punctuality. All other carriers in Australia improved their on-time arrivals and departure performances in the previous month.
In the regional sector, Regional Express (Rex) topped the list for the last month, while Tigerair held onto its place as the most punctual low-cost carrier, ahead of Jetstar.
