Virgin Australia Velocity Members to Earn Points Via Australia Post

7th Jun 2014

Virgin Australia has entered into a partnership with Australia Post, the country's government-controlled postal service provider, which will enable its Velocity Frequent Flyer members to accumulate points using the latter's MyPost Digital mailbox.

Starting last June 6, Velocity members will earn 50 points if they pay their bills through MyPost Digital mailbox. However, the payment should not fall below the $50 required minimum to earn points. Take note also that payment made through regular Postbillpay is not covered by the agreement.

MyPost Digital Mailbox is a free service offered by Australia Post allowing customers to receive mails, documents and pay bills wherever they are in the world.

To entice its members to adopt the free service, the airline will award 1,000 points to any member who will sign up between June 6 and July 6, 2014.

Big corporations and government agencies are already using the service such as Brisbane City Council, AMP, Telstra, and Sydney Water.

According to John Borghetti, Virgin Australia?s CEO, Australia Post is not only one of the country's oldest corporations, but also leads in product and service innovations with its investments in technology-based infrastructure programs. It has broadened its reach to more customers as well by expanding its products and services beyond its core services.

Before the end of this year, MyPost Digital Mailbox will enable Velocity members to receive their monthly bill statements as well.
